The Mountain Comes Alive

September 29, 2026

Rocks, rivers, cliffs, chalets and more are coming to Ski Lines, alongside improved surface lifts and brand-new tree visuals.

This update adds a whole bunch of new scenery elements to Ski Lines.

Rocks, barriers, cliffs, chalets, rivers and plenty of other obstacles can now be found across the different maps.

But they are not just here to look pretty.

They will also make planning your resort a little trickier. You'll need to work around obstacles, find better routes and sometimes rethink an entire piste or lift.

In short: a little more challenge, and much more picturesque mountains.

🚡 Surface lifts now stay on the surface

We've also reworked how surface lifts behave.

Until now, they had a rather… generous interpretation of what counted as usable terrain.

Through a forest? No problem.

Straight up a cliff? Why not.

A little treetop adventure course for your skiers? Apparently that was included in the lift pass.

Not anymore.

A surface lift's path must now be clear and actually traversable at ground level. Obstacles and cliffs will block its route, as they probably should have done from the beginning.

It is called a surface lift, after all.

🌲 New trees

We've also replaced the old tree visuals.

The new ones fit the game's art direction much better and blend more naturally with all the new scenery.

And since forests are now slightly more annoying to build around...

You'll have plenty of time to admire them.

As always, thanks to everyone playing the demo, sending us feedback and helping us improve Ski Lines.

See you on the slopes. ⛷️
